Why OT

Why Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a field that helps individuals improve physical, emotional, functional, social and mental health so that they may fully participate in all of life’s activities. Occupational therapists are skilled in understanding physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges that create barriers for an individual and

help them to carry out the activities that they need or want to do. We address not just the physical effects

of a client's condition but also the psycho-social and environmental factors that influence

functional ability and thereby enabling them to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

Each individual is unique and it is my job to assess and ascertain their needs and come up with a customized program to enable them to live life to the fullest. Private treatment process starts with an evaluation, goal setting, and customized treatment plan design.

OT is your non-surgical option to help you live a fulfilled life!

Children with Complex Needs

Childhood development is complex and not all children will move at the same pace. Practical, customized support and advice for children with multiple or complex needs that can lead to improvements in independence, communication, quality of life and safety.

Visual Perceptual Skills

A child’s ability to process what they see and respond with meaningful movement of the hands and rest of the body. Common areas of focus would include visual memory, sensory processing etc.

Motor Skills

Difficulties with gross/fine motor skills causing clumsy or uncoordinated movement, leading to problems with tasks such as dressing, walking or small movements of the hand and fingers that allow a child to write and draw, as well as manipulate buttons, zips and shoelaces.

Behavioural & Cognitive Issues

All kids struggle at times to pay attention, listen, follow directions, sit still or struggle with class participation and personal relationships due to attention deficit and other learning disabilities. With the right skills, focus & self-belief, they can overcome these issues and lead a fulfilling and meaningful daily routine.

Balance & Coordination

Children with balance & coordination difficulties can struggle with activities such as dressing, using cutlery, riding a bike, running or playing sport.

Self-care & Social Skills

A child’s ability to carry out basic self care tasks such as feeding, dressing, toileting, develop hobbies and engage in meaningful social activities.

Testimonials

Testimonials

“I want to say big thanks to Ms. Jignasha Bhatt for her dedication, and remarkable services which made significant improvement in Chatura's life. She took the control within two sessions only and became Chatura's favorite friend.  We truly appreciate all her patience and constructive ideas. A definite difference is noticed pertained to Chatura sensory issues elimination, now she is more compliant and able to allow us combing, brushing, bathing like every other child does.

Chatura is more comfortable now in noisy environment, and auditory issues for loud noise has decreased. A great deal of effort by Ms. Jignasha has made a  difference in improvement of Chatura's fine motor skills. Currently she is holding a pencil, and can write five to six letters on her own also can do painting. Also her Gross motor skills really improved a lot. Similarly in all other skills such as toileting, bathing, dressing etc, Chatura has become independent now with little help. We really enjoyed working with Ms. Jigna, and she is cool going, always listens to us patiently and helped us in learning the OT techniques.”
